英国剑桥有哪三个学院？
英国共有187所高等院校，其中拥有500年以上历史的高校大约有30所，而剑桥大学便是其中之一。 （PS.牛津大学也有4个半学期哦）
Cambridge = C + A + M + I + V。 所以今天来看看这五个学院的由来。
The University of Cambridge is made up of 31 Colleges and over 100 Departments and Institutions.
The University itself can trace its history back to 1209， but the first College (or ‘Hall’) was not founded until 1326—the year in which Michaelhouse was built by Henry de Blois.
Here’s a fun fact for all you Harry Potter fans！ The famous Hogwarts Express that takes students back and forth from the magical world of Hogsmeade to the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry actually originates at King's Cross Station in London， where Platform 9¾ can be found！ So now you know， and here are some pictures we took there last year：
In order to better understand the history behind each of the five colleges， we will use one of their popular traditions as an example：the May Balls。 Each of these institutions has its own hall on the River Cam， along with riverside gardens called ‘jubble”。 In late April or early May， they hold large balls for undergraduates to dance the night away。 Here are photos from Trinity's Ball last year：
Trinity is known for having some of the most beautiful architecture， and this tradition dates back several hundred years——a time when universities were the only places where young people could learn about art， science， language and mathematics etc. These colleges would also serve as hospital， housing and social spaces.
