办留学英国签证费用是多少?
2018年4月3日起,中国国内所有Tier 1 (General)、Tier 4 (Child) and Tier 4 (Dependant) Student visas application fees will increase in line with the Consumer Prices Index from £75 to at least:
• For applications made on or after 4 April 2018, for all countries except India and Bangladesh – a minimum of £1,495. For these applicants who reside outside an EU country, this is equivalent to an increase by approximately 36%. This fee applies regardless of whether your application is submitted online or through post. The government website states that visa fees have not increased since July 2015 when the current system was introduced, despite CPI rising by nearly 28 per cent over this period. It says it has kept the fees ‘constant’ because they are set under UK immigration rules as a proportion of the cost of processing each individual visa application rather than using inflation-busting indexing linked to consumer prices, known as RPIX, which would have resulted in an average rise above 70% according to figures from the Migration Advisory Committee. In September last year the MAC said it had been ‘unusual’ for immigration services fees to be based primarily on administrative costs rather than user pays principles and warned this could lead to unjustified increases. As well as a higher fee, there will also now be an additional administration charge on top of the usual visa fee for students applying from countries where their home office can’t verify their identity automatically such as China, Malaysia or Nigeria——a new £75 “identity verification charge”. There is no explanation why this should apply only to specific nations but it effectively means that for those nationals currently paying $100 or less, this will add another $75 onto what already amounts to significantly more money than many people earn per week.
There's one other change worth noting: Applicants may still pay either cash (£75)or a credit/debit card($160)but the latter option carries a 2.8% charge, whereas previously it was free. According to Home Office data published today
